We built Forum to be a community platform, not an advertising platform. We collect only what we need to run the service and we do not sell your data to third parties.
1.Who We Are
Forum is an independent community platform for the Roblox community. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about you when you use Forum ("the Service"). Forum is not affiliated with or endorsed by Roblox Corporation.
By using Forum, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2.What Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account registration — your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth).
- Profile information — your Roblox username, display name, bio, avatar image, banner image, and ro-nation (your selected in-game nation).
- Content — posts, comments, replies, and any images you upload as part of that content.
- Business accounts — if you create a business or creator account: the account name, display name, bio, and associated avatar and banner images.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — interactions you perform on the platform such as likes, follows, and notifications, which are stored in our database to power those features.
- Technical data — basic request metadata (IP address, browser type, device type) handled by our hosting infrastructure. We do not run our own analytics beyond what Supabase and Cloudflare log as part of normal operations.
We do not collect sensitive personal data such as payment information, government ID numbers, or precise location.
3.How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Forum platform and its features.
- Display your profile and content to other users.
- Deliver notifications about activity relevant to your account (likes, comments, follows, mentions).
- Authenticate your identity and keep your account secure.
- Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Rules.
- Respond to support requests, bug reports, or appeals.
- Improve the platform based on how it is used.
We do not use your data to serve targeted advertising. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell or rent your data to any third party.
4.How We Store Your Information
Forum's data is stored using Supabase, a hosted database platform. User-uploaded media (avatars, banners, post images) is stored in Supabase Storage. Our infrastructure is delivered via Cloudflare for performance and security.
Supabase and Cloudflare are reputable third-party infrastructure providers with their own security and compliance programmes. Your data is stored on servers in jurisdictions determined by these providers. By using Forum, you acknowledge that your data may be stored and processed outside your country of residence.
5.Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Infrastructure providers — Supabase (database and storage) and Cloudflare (hosting and CDN) process data as part of delivering the Service. These providers are contractually bound to handle data appropriately.
- Legal obligations — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, we may disclose information necessary to comply.
- Safety — we may share information where we believe it is necessary to prevent harm, investigate fraud, or protect the rights of Forum, its users, or others.
- Business transfer — in the event Forum is acquired or merged with another entity, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users if this occurs.
In all cases, we share only the minimum information necessary.
6.Cookies and Local Storage
Forum uses browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to remember certain preferences, such as which account you have switched to (personal or business). This data is stored on your own device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Supabase Auth uses session tokens stored in your browser to keep you logged in. These are essential to the Service and cannot be disabled without logging out.
We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
7.Public Content
Forum is a public platform. Content you post — including posts, comments, your display name, username, bio, avatar, and banner — is visible to all visitors, including those who are not logged in.
Your post content may be embedded on external websites and services (for example, in Discord link previews) as part of Forum's normal operation. Think carefully before sharing information you want to keep private.
Followers, following lists, and like counts are also publicly visible by default.
8.Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. These may include:
- Access — the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — the right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data. You can update most profile information directly in your Settings.
- Deletion — the right to request deletion of your account and associated data. You can initiate account deletion from your Settings page.
- Portability — the right to receive your data in a portable format, where applicable.
- Objection — the right to object to certain processing of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us through Forum's official support channels. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Note that some data may be retained even after account deletion where required by law or for legitimate operational purposes (such as maintaining the integrity of other users' content that referenced yours).
9.Children's Privacy
Forum is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Users aged 13–17 should have parental or guardian consent before using Forum, in accordance with our Terms of Service.
10.Third-Party Services
Forum may link to or integrate with third-party services, including Roblox. This Privacy Policy applies only to Forum itself. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through Forum.
Forum is not responsible for the privacy practices of Roblox Corporation, Discord, or any other external platform.
11.Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where:
- We are required to retain it by law.
- It is necessary for legitimate operational purposes (such as abuse prevention logs).
- It is embedded in content contributed by other users that cannot be cleanly removed.
Uploaded media (avatars, banners, post images) associated with a deleted account will be removed from Supabase Storage within a reasonable timeframe.
12.Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) across all Forum pages.
- Passwords hashed by Supabase Auth — we never store plaintext passwords.
- Row-Level Security (RLS) policies on our database to ensure users can only access data they are authorised to see.
- Access controls on Supabase Storage to restrict media access appropriately.
No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a security vulnerability in Forum, please report it responsibly through our support channels rather than exploiting it.
13.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via a notice on the platform or by email. The updated policy will take effect from the date noted at the top of this page.
Continued use of Forum after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
14.Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, wish to exercise your data rights, or want to report a privacy concern, please contact us through Forum's official support channels.
